GROVE THEATER. This photo shows the famous Grove Theater in Oak Ridge at the time of the showing of the 1947 movie: The Beginning or the End. This Hollywood movie tells the story of the Manhattan Project and Oak Ridge. The movie title was inspired by President Truman's solemn warning to the world; that the releasing of atomic energy could be the beginning or the end for the human race. This is a beautiful 8 X 10 glossy, professionally-printed black and white photograph. It comes courtesy of the US Department of Energy and the Oak Ridge Public Library.
